"Very well expressed Caroline, you have captured the issue with great clarity as usual.  I think one of the big problems has been the way "CSR" has been used loosely and without clear definition over the past ten years famously…"

Dear Graham,

This is Buds M. Fernando, a member of BFP. I'm writing to seek your support in the on-going advocacy initiative of the quality movement of the Philippines. That is, the creation of the TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT (TQM) COMMISSION for the Philippine Government. I humbly request you to write to our President Benigno S. Aquino III (by email/surface mail) to convince him to champion the creation of the TQM Commission with the Office of the President as the sponsor. You are one of the many foreigners we have chosen and whose voice can really make a difference. I know you believe to quality management and with the TQM Commission, poverty can be eliminated, if not minimized because the systems, tools and methodologies of TQM can greatly improve government service and efficiency. Thank you for your concern and support. May this short note reach you in good health. With all the Best, BUDS

Hello Mr. Baxter, I saw your interview with Member of the Week regarding "Meet Graham Baxter". One particular quote prompted me to send you this note. That quote was

"The challenge is to optimise the opportunities for sharing; to retain that freshness; and to avoid becoming a venue for impersonal corporate speak and self-promotion."

I foresee similar challenges for my own non-profit after I incorporate it. (It will be a non-profit for athletes who engage the community and corporations.) These, in fact, present two distinct but related issues among my human rights advisors. One, how can we prevent corporations from taking advantage of our athletes and their surrounding communities? And Two, how do we prevent our athletes from doing the same?

Please let me know if you have time to discuss privately at your convenience. I would appreciate your input tremendously.

Regards,

Russell
