About my work:
Katharine Pulvermacher is Africa Editor for The Economist Group’s CEMEA Division, which she joined in September 2010. Based in Johannesburg, she runs the African arm of Economist Corporate Network, a briefing and networking service for senior executives and also provides editorial input for Economist Conferences and research in the region. Previously, she was chief executive of African Rainbow Consulting, a boutique advisory firm focusing on African investment. From 2001 until 2008 she worked for the World Gold Council, at which she was responsible for investment research and marketing. Ms Pulvermacher has published on a range of subjects, including investment strategy, commodities and commodity derivatives, and public-private partnerships, as well as African country studies. She holds a BA in social science and humanities from the University of Cape Town and an MSc in economics with reference to Africa from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.
